The AI Assistant is Ethan, your AI marketing teammate. You tell Ethan what you want in plain language, and Ethan plans your content, writes posts, and prepares them for your approval.

Set up your workspace and brand first, because Ethan uses them to write in your voice. If you haven’t, see Setting Up Your Brand.

How to Get There

Click AI Assistant at the top of the left-hand menu. A number beside it shows how many chats have updates waiting for you. You can also open it from the Create with Ethan link in the Your update note on the Content overview page.

What’s on the Page

The page is titled What are we creating today?, with the line “I’m Ethan, your AI marketing teammate. Bring an idea. Let’s make it happen.” It has these parts:

  • Ask Ethan: the message box where you type your request.
  • Attach button: the paperclip icon, for adding a file to your message.
  • Workspace name: shows which workspace Ethan is working.
  • Send button: the arrow at the right of the message box.
  • Shortcut buttons: seven ready-made starting points below the box: Plan content, Write a post, Create a video, Explore ideas, Review approvals, Find content, and Track work.
  • Unread chats: shows how many chats have updates for you.
  • New chat: starts a fresh conversation.
  • Workspace: opens your workspace.
  • Recents: in the left-hand menu, lists your latest chats. Click More chats to see the rest.

Step 1: Start a Chat

You can start in two ways:

  • Use a shortcut. Click a button such as Plan content. It fills the message box with a ready-made request, for example, “Plan this week’s posts around my content pillars.” Edit the text if you like, then click the send arrow.
  • Type your own request. Click the Ask Ethan box and describe what you want, such as “Can we create a post?” Press Enter to send, or Shift + Enter to start a new line.

To add a file, click the paperclip icon before you send.

Step 2: Work With Ethan

Ethan replies in the chat. Click View activity under a reply to see what Ethan did to get the answer.

A plan comes back as a table with four columns: When, Pillar, Post idea, and Suggested format. Plans are proposals only. Nothing is scheduled until you approve it.

You can keep the conversation going by typing in the Reply to Ethan box. For example, you can tell Ethan about a product in your Smart library and ask for an image post using that image. Ethan finds it and builds the post.

If the chat runs long, click Latest message to jump to the newest reply. Your credits show at the top of the chat.

Review and Approve Your Content

Ethan sends your content for approval in two stages: the writing first, then the finished post with its image.

Approve the writing. When the caption is ready, Ethan sends an update in the chat with a card showing the post’s title and status: Awaiting approval. Click View content to open it in a panel beside the chat.

At this stage, the panel shows the caption only, with no image yet. The title and caption appear in the panel, and the version and status show at the top, such as v2 · Awaiting approval. Read the caption and either ask Ethan for changes or approve it. The image is only created after you approve the writing.

Approve the final post. Once you approve the writing, Ethan adds the image and sends a second update saying the content is ready for approval. Open it again with View content. The panel now shows the image above the caption, and the bottom bar shows Final review with these options:

  • Download: saves the post.
  • Star: marks the content so it’s easier to find.
  • Request changes: tell Ethan what to adjust. Ethan creates a new version for you to review.
  • Approve final: approves the finished post so it can move forward to publishing.

Click the ⋯ menu at the top of the panel for more options:

  • View full-size image: opens the image at full size.
  • Copy: copies the caption.
  • Download text: saves the caption as text.
  • Open in Content: opens the post in your Content library.

Click X to close the panel and return to the chat.

Why This Matters

Ethan takes you from an idea to an approved post without switching tools. You stay in control of what goes out, because nothing moves forward until you approve it.

That's it!
